Global payments leader Visa has announced support for Garmin Pay, enabling eligible Visa cardholders to make secure contactless payments directly from compatible Garmin smartwatches.
The move expands the availability of digital payment solutions for consumers who prefer the convenience of paying with wearable devices. With Garmin Pay, users can leave their wallets and smartphones behind while still making purchases at participating merchants that accept contactless payments.
Garmin Pay uses tokenization technology to help protect cardholder information, replacing sensitive payment details with a unique digital identifier during transactions. Users can add eligible Visa cards to their Garmin devices through the Garmin Connect app and complete purchases with a simple tap of their smartwatch.
Garmin Pay expands contactless payment options in the Philippines, building on Visa and Google’s collaboration in 2025 to launch Google Wallet and Google Pay in the local market. Transactions made through Garmin Pay are secured by Visa’s tokenization technology, which replaces sensitive card information with unique digital tokens to help protect users during purchases.
Visa said the partnership reflects the growing demand for seamless and secure digital payment experiences. The integration also supports the continued adoption of wearable technology as consumers increasingly look for faster and more convenient ways to pay.
Garmin Pay is available on a wide range of Garmin smartwatches and fitness devices, offering users access to contactless payments alongside health tracking, fitness monitoring, and navigation features.
The announcement highlights the ongoing shift toward cashless and mobile-first payment solutions, with Visa and Garmin aiming to provide consumers with greater flexibility in how they manage everyday transactions.
