Ogie Diaz Recalls Hallway Encounter
According to Diaz, the incident took place during the grand finals of Tawag ng Tanghalan. He said he had just visited comedian and television host Vice Ganda in the dressing room with his wife and daughter before they crossed paths with Kim Chiu, who was having a photoshoot in the hallway.
Diaz recalled that he and Chiu made eye contact, leading him to expect either a greeting or for them to simply ignore each other, especially since they allegedly had a previous misunderstanding.
However, Diaz claimed that Chiu instead remarked, “Buti pinapasok kayo,” which he found surprising.
He said he responded by asking, “Bakit bawal ba?” before continuing on his way.
Family Also Noticed the Exchange
Diaz said his wife immediately noticed the interaction and later asked why Kim Chiu made the remark.
He added that he would have preferred if Chiu had simply ignored him instead of making what he considered an unnecessary comment.
Despite the awkward moment, Diaz said Chiu may have spoken without thinking. He pointed to previous instances in which the actress faced criticism for making off-the-cuff remarks.
Kim Chiu Has Yet to Respond
Kim Chiu drew attention online after reposting a supportive message from one of her fans on X (formerly Twitter), shortly after entertainment personality Ogie Diaz shared his account of their alleged awkward encounter.
Although Chiu did not mention Diaz or his statements, the repost sparked discussion among netizens. Some users speculated that the post related to the controversy, while others viewed it as a simple acknowledgment of fan support. As of this writing, Kim Chiu has not released an official statement regarding Diaz’s claims.
